Mochicast is a lightweight Windows app for streaming your desktop and audio into VRChat. It now supports both classic HLS streaming and new low latency streaming, so you can choose the mode that fits your setup.
Capture your screen and system audio with a clean, lightweight Windows app.
HLS and low latency
Use HLS for compatibility or low latency mode for a much more responsive experience.
Perfect for events, teachers & DJs
Share desktops, presentations, media, DJ software, lessons, and live event content directly inside VRChat.
Made to keep improving
The beta is still evolving, with active fixes for stability, performance, and streaming support.

Telemetry & privacy
Mochicast collects a small amount of technical telemetry so I can see whether the app is working, understand how the streaming service is being used, find failures and improve performance. It is not advertising telemetry and it is not used to build a profile about you.
I WILL NEVER SELL YOUR TELEMETRY DATA TO ANYONE.
What Mochicast telemetry can collect
A randomly generated anonymous installation ID
Mochicast app version
Streaming mode being used
Resolution, FPS and selected bitrate
Encoder type, such as NVIDIA NVENC or x264
Stream session duration and current viewer count
Reconnects, failed starts and technical error events when reported
Server region and service-level usage statistics
What telemetry does NOT collect
Your email address, name or VRChat username
Your screen or the contents of what you are streaming
Your desktop audio or the contents of your audio stream
Your files, filenames, browser history or messages
Your passwords or payment card details
Advertising identifiers or data for targeted advertising
Where the data goes
Telemetry is sent only to Mochicast infrastructure
Telemetry is kept on the Mochicast server and used to operate, troubleshoot and improve the service
It is not sold to advertisers, data brokers or other companies
Account information is handled separately from anonymous streaming telemetry
Streaming security
Mochicast web, account and telemetry connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit
HLS playback is delivered over HTTPS, so HLS video traffic is encrypted in transit
Low-latency VRChat RTSPT is not encrypted in transit. Mochicast tested RTSPS, but the current VRChat/AVPro playback path does not accept it, so the compatible low-latency mode remains RTSPT
Stream content is not collected as telemetry and Mochicast does not create recordings of your streams for analytics
Stream access uses unique stream links/keys rather than exposing your account details in the stream
Plain English: I collect the boring technical stuff I need to keep Mochicast working. I do not need or want the contents of your desktop, your stream, your messages or your personal life.
Beta notes
RTSPT gives sub second latency. HLS is around 8 seconds because of video buffering.
Security note: HLS playback uses HTTPS and is encrypted in transit. The current low-latency RTSPT mode used for VRChat compatibility is not encrypted in transit.
This app is still in development.
